Description

I've been capturing full frame OSC data on M81 & M82.  I had my rig running on the night of Fri 10 May, when ofc the aurora came to town.  It was even visible in Bortle 9!

And that night I happened to have the Ha/Oiii dual band filter set to capture.  So I was curious to see whether the aurora would affect any of the data I was capturing that night.

This is c 2hrs of data - just from that night - calibrated and processed.  Is the purplish/maroonish "nebulosity" in this the aurora?  I've attached an inverted image too which seems to show something there.

When I compare this to the 8hrs of data from other nights, none of the background colour seems to be there.

Is this the aurora??
